UPDATED Safety Announcement from Shannon Brunink 11:05am 4/19/24

Parents/Guardians:

Thank you for your patience as we worked through the school safety concern this morning. At this time, we have been cleared by the Holland Police Department to resume our school day. They have thoroughly investigated the original concerning phone call the main office received and have not found that to be a credible threat. Mr. Brunink will provide more details about this incident as soon as possible this afternoon.  Students in 8th grade that were scheduled to take the PSAT this afternoon will instead attend their normal Friday classes. More information about rescheduled testing will be communicated as it is developed.

Original Message

"At this time we are sheltering in place. There is not an issue on campus but we had a safety concern from off site so we are holding students in classrooms. For precaution, we are not allowing anyone in or out of the building until cleared by the Holland Police Department. Students will not be allowed to be signed in or out for any reason at this time. We are working closely with local law enforcement and will post more information as it becomes available. At this time we will continue to work to keep our Black River community safe."
